The Mayflower Reservoir staff are caring for our mother during the most challenging time in her life. As siblings, we could not have asked for a better place for our mother to be comfortable, looked after and staff so caring for her needs. All the staff are exceptional and are special which makes as siblings feel at ease that our mother is in a safe place. Special thanks goes out to all nursing staff and carers. Thank you

Having had some experience with other aged care centres I cannot recommend Mayflower enough. The staff are so kind and gentle with our Mum. Mayflower has a true sense of community and it shows in the care they provide.

Both my husband and I can't thank enough all managers, nurses, carers and everyone contributing at Mayflower for the quality service provided to our mums. From day one all our hopes and expectations have been consistently met and exceeded. This gives us a great deal of comfort knowing that our loved ones are in good, caring and dedicated hands.

Frequently asked questions

Find answers to common questions about Aged Care homes and services.

What is Residential Aged Care?

Residential Aged Care is for seniors who can no longer live independently at home. It includes accommodation and personalised care 24/7.

How much does Aged Care cost?

This varies depending on the home and the resident’s financial circumstances. The basic daily fee covers your day-to-day living costs. All residents are required to pay this fee, which set by the government and equates to 85% of the single aged pension. Depending on your financial situation, the government may ask you to contribute to your care costs though a means-tested care fee. The accommodation fee covers the room that you live in. The Department of Human Services will determine whether we will ask you to pay this fee.

What’s the difference between Retirement Living and Aged Care?

Retirement Living allows you to live independently while having access to support services and amenities, as well as a like-minded community . Aged Care provides 24/7 care and support.

Do you offer specialised dementia care?

Yes, please refer to our dementia care section for more details.

Are pets allowed at Mayflower?

Unfortunately, pets are not allowed to live at Mayflower, but we welcome them to visit - please speak to the team at each residence to organise.

Can I leave the residence to go on outings?

Yes - friends and family are welcome to come pick you up for outings. We can also organise personal carers to take you on an outing - additional costs may apply.

How do I access Aged Care?

Once you’ve decided it’s time to look for an Aged Care home, you can initiate the process in just a few steps: 1) Determine your care eligibility through an Aged Care Assessment. 2) Explore possible facilities, care options and financing details. 3) Choose your preferred provider and submit an application. 4) Review your offer of acceptance and sign the agreement with your new provider. 5) Move in and start making yourself at home.
