"Extra! Extra!" Recognising our Senior Victorians and ABC Radio Feature

Lining up to tell their stories, Charles, Barbara and Elaine of Mayflower Brighton have just been interviewed as part of the Recognising Senior Victorians program.

The program forms part of the Victorian Seniors Festival, and aims to tell the life stories of seniors living in Victoria,

“So many people have a great life story to tell,” says Chris Reidy, the Manager of the Seniors Festival,

“We capture these stories for their friends, family, and the broader Victorian community to read, listen to, and enjoy."

There is also an opportunity to have an audio interview recorded, based on their written piece.

Charles, Barbara and Elaine of Mayflower Brighton have recently told their stories – and you just might hear them on ABC radio!

This trio of keen storytellers are part of the select few across Victoria, with just 50 aged care residents state-wide able to participate.

And, to say thank you, each person will also receive a Certificate of Appreciation signed by the Minister for Disability, Ageing and Carers and the Commissioner for Senior Victorians.

The completed stories and recordings will be published on the Seniors Online website. We will share the links when they become available.

We can’t wait to read them!
