Love was definitely in the air this Valentine's Day at Mayflower aged care homes. From sweet gifts to engaging performances and delicious food, there was something for everyone to enjoy and feel loved.

At Mayflower Edith Bendall, residents were treated to champagne and strawberries, as well as personalized gifts made by the craft group. A "Sweethearts Tree" adorned with photos of happy couples, spread joy and love throughout the home.

Mayflower Reservoir enjoyed a two-day love affair, featuring a lively puppet show with Elvis and other characters, followed by one-on-one therapy-puppet sessions for people living with dementia. On Valentine's Day, residents were gifted beautiful long-stemmed roses by the Mayflower team, bringing smiles and gratitude to everyone.

"It was so lovely to see their smiling faces," says lifestyle coordinator Helen at Mayflower Reservoir,

"Everyone was delighted and grateful to receive their surprise!"

At Mayflower Brighton, a band performed love songs while residents enjoyed a delicious high tea made by our in-house chefs. Retirement living residents also celebrated their love at Perla café with a romantic lunch together.

Across our homes, Valentine's Day decorations created a festive atmosphere, and residents were made to feel supported and included in the celebration of love.

At Mayflower, we believe in embracing all forms of love, whether it's romantic, friendly, familial, or the love of passions and companions - even pets!
