Mayflower provides families caring for loved ones at home with a safe and secure environment so that families/carers can take a well-earned rest free from the responsibility of day to day care and oversight. We welcome our respite residents and ensure that they are supported for the period that they are entrusted to our care.
Approval required by the Aged Care Assessment Service (ACAS), and there is a minimum stay of two weeks.
We take seriously our responsibility to provide the utmost care to ensure every moment of a resident’s life is as comfortable as possible. In relation to our residents who require palliative care we focus, through our Care Plans and consultations, on meeting the wishes of residents and family members. We promote a safe, quiet and relaxed environment which is dignified, respectful and compassionate for our palliative care residents, as well their family and friends.
Our specialised care for residents living with dementia is based on industry best practice principles. Our lifestyle program recognises the special needs of people who present with various forms of dementia such Alzheimer's disease. We endeavour to involve these residents in meaningful everyday activities which stimulate as well as having a calming effect if required. The built environment at Brighton provides safe and secure areas including a courtyard garden.
Each and every day our staff and volunteers continue to provide a range of social and physical activities as part of our buoyant resident lifestyle programs. These activities support the cultural and spiritual wishes of the residents. Events such as concerts, outings, topical and celebratory functions are a frequent occurrence at Mayflower.
