A New Journey Begins – Thanks to You, our Supporters.

At Mayflower Brighton, we’re celebrating the arrival of something truly special – our brand-new mini bus, made possible by the unwavering generosity of our incredible community.
Through the success of our Golden Wheels: Driving Support for the Mayflower Community fundraising campaign, more than $90,000 was raised in just six months.
This remarkable outcome reflects the heartfelt support from across our community – including aged care residents, Mayflower Brighton Retirement Living residents, their families, local community members and generous suppliers.

We want to say "Thank You!"
We’d like to especially acknowledge the businesses that donated goods and services to our Christmas raffle, including Molly Dene Bakehouse and Waterfront Brighton Restaurant. Thanks to the raffle and many other contributions, the campaign quickly gathered momentum – and before long, the dream of a new mini bus became a reality.
This new vehicle is more than just transport – it’s a gateway to new experiences, continued independence, and cherished community connections.
For residents of Mayflower Brighton Retirement Living, it means regular outings and shopping trips. Their first journey was to the vibrant Garden World nursery – with many more adventures to come.
For residents at Mayflower Brighton aged care, the mini bus offers scenic drives and special cultural excursions. In fact, their next outing will be to the iconic Melbourne Arts Centre to enjoy the ballet – an experience sure to bring joy, connection and lasting memories.
Mayflower Brighton Retirement Living residents have already enjoyed their first adventure to Garden World nursery, while aged care residents are eagerly preparing for an upcoming trip to the ballet at the Melbourne Arts Centre.

Our Bus Launch Celebration
In the beginning of May, we launched the mini bus at a heartfelt celebration to thank all those who contributed. The event was filled with warmth, smiles, and a shared sense of pride in what we achieved together.
Our CEO, Stuart Rodney, acknowledged the contributions of our many supporters, celebrating the difference the new bus will make. A ribbon cutting ceremony was a highlight, with cheers echoing through the carpark.
As a not-for-profit charitable organisation, Mayflower relies on the generosity of our supporters to continue providing care without compromise – and empowering residents to live their lives, their way.
Thank you for being part of the journey.
