Angels Galore Returns for Christmas

As Christmas approached, Mayflower Brighton Independent Living resident Melinda once again opened the doors of her unit, inviting fellow neighbours to enjoy her much-loved angel collection.
Melinda has been collecting angels for more than 60 years, and in the lead-up to Christmas her home became a place of quiet wonder and shared enjoyment. To mark the occasion, Nicole, Mayflower’s gift shop manager, decorated Melinda’s doorway with angels, gently signalling to passers-by that Angels Galore was back on display.
More than 100 Angels
Inside, angels from around the world filled the space – each one a symbol of beauty, hope, and protection. Melinda warmly welcomed friends, residents, family members, and Mayflower team members, inviting everyone to linger, admire the collection, and share in the stories behind it.
Moments like these show how personal passions can create connection.
By opening her home and sharing something deeply meaningful, Melinda helped foster a strong sense of community – one built on generosity, curiosity, and conversation.
Gestures like this help shape the experience of retirement living, where new friendships are formed, connections grow, and community is something residents actively create together.
