Buona Festa Della Repubblica – Happy Italian Day!

It is hard to believe it has been a whole year since residents celebrated the Festa Della Repubblica – affectionately known by residents as ‘Italian Day’.

Our Mayflower Reservoir Community celebrated the special day in their beautiful new residence, which has recently completed the final stage of development. You can read more about our new home here.

Festa Della Repubblica marks the historic day when Italy became a Republic after 85 years of monarchy.

Each year, on June 2nd, Italians worldwide come together to kick up their heels in jubilation. And our community is no different, with residents celebrating with Italian music, biscotti, singing and dancing.

All enjoyed the live performance, from Italian singer duo Frank and Marthese, pizza, biscotti and European-style coffee. The party was made complete by hitting the dance floor, and singing to lively tunes.

The highlight?

The lasting effect of the event for residents and our team alike.

“Hours later, I could still hear residents singing the Italian songs,” says Lifestyle Coordinator, Helen, “it made my day to know this event was so special to them.”
